Bacon whisky BBQ sauce

This one, is on behalf of my spouse who is the one in the kitchen making it.

Whisky Bacon BBQ Sauce

1 cup whisky
6 oz (175 g) double smoked bacon, diced
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup cider vinegar
2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ground cumin

Bring whisky to a boil in a small saucepan over med heat. Add bacon, return to a boil and cook for 7 - 8 mins or until liquid id reduced to 1/3rd. using a slotted spoon, remove bacon and discard. Stir in ketchup, molasses, vinegar and spices and cook until reduced down to about a cup, about 5 mins. Smear on anything, possibly everything.
